FWAG Scotland Ltd.

FWAG Scotland Ltd. came into existence following a 25 year history within FWAG Ltd principally as a result of the diverging political framework surrounding agri-environment, where a devolved and dedicated Scottish Government and the Scottish Rural Development Plan shape much of FWAG's approach.  An independent FWAG Scotland also ensures a dedicated approach to Scotland's farming industry and its partners across all rural interests.

As a trusted part of the farming community operating from 15 regional offices throughout Scotland with accredited advisers backed by local farmer-led groups, FWAG Scotland:

  • Help identify ways of integrating environmental goals into farm business plans and day-to-day farming operations through advice and demonstration and by using farmer expertise and local knowledge.
  • Have helped to secure millions of pounds of agri-environment scheme money for farmers and crofters across Scotland.
  • Provide professional and practical advice and support on environmental and rural development business planning and grant aid including;
    • Rural Development Contracts and ESA/CPS/RSS transfers
    • Whole Farm Reviews
    • Croft Development Plans
    • Public Access
    • Wildlife and Habitat Management.
    • Resource management including soils, water, nutrient budgeting, and energy.
    • Local food labeling
    • Farm Tourism
    • Specialised land-based skills training (drystone dyking, hedge laying and planting, butchery, etc.)
  • Operate from the ground up to reflect local farming priorities.
  • Help turn increasingly complex farming policy into practice at the farm gate.
  • Represent the needs of farmers locally and nationally by feeding into agri-environment policy, and working with SEERAD, SNH, SEPA, NFUS and a wide range of conservation and trade organisations.
  • Initiate and secure project funds to deliver important results for farming and wildlife.
  • Promote the public benefits of farming and help link the consumer to the producer.
